Document on Social Welfare Schemes in Kerala and its online version

This is an important document initiated by Social Services Division of State Planning Board to make aware of the social welfare schemes at bottom level.  Details of welfare schemes pertaining to various development departments including Welfare Fund Boards were incorporated in the document. It will enable the people to download the application form, government orders, scheme details, certificates etc.

Expert committe for support and rehablitation of Adult Mentally Challenged Persons

This is a mile stone in the area of disability to develop a model programme for the support and rehabilitation of adult mentally challenged persons. The expert committee constituted by State Planning Board has evolved a model programme for Kerala.  Accordingly,the Social Justice Department of Kerala will initiate to set up assisted living homes at three zones of the State.


 Leprosy Control Programme

A Member Level Meeting on Leprosy Control Programme was held on 19 th May 2014 under the Chairmanship of Sri.C.P.John, Member State Planning Board. This Meeting was conducted for taking stock of the status of leprosy patients in the State.

 Review Meeting on Medical &Public Health

A Member Level Review Meeting on Medical &Public Health for Annual Plan 2013-14 was held on 13th June 2014. Which looked in to the physical performance of plan schemes during 2013-14.

 Anti-rabies Campaign

The stray dog incidences in Kerala have become unmanageable. In order to check the problem, an innovative scheme on this topic was started under the name ‘Anti Rabies Campaign’ in the Annual Plan, 2014-15 as a result of initiative taken  by State Planning Board with the support of Health & Family Welfare Department, Animal Husbandry Department, LSGD.  The initial meetings on the topic were conducted on 2nd July, 27th August, 23rd October, 4th November in 2014. Next meeting was conducted on 23 rd July 2015. The objectives of this programme include control of stray dogs, animal birth control, anti- rabies vaccination and immunoglobulin etc.  

National Workshop on Issues and Challenges of Drinking Water Management in Kerala

       In association with Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), the Social Services Division, State Planning Board organised a National workshop on 01.10.2015. The objective of the workshop was to identify suitable projects to tackle the drinking water problems associated with different hydro-climatic areas and physiographic zones of Kerala. The theme of the workshop was discussed in three parallel discussions such as 1) Integrated Water Resource Management 2) Water Quality Management and Conservation and 3) Water Governance and Institutional Mechanism. All the concrete recommendations emerged in the workshop and the scientific papers of the experts have been documented.  One the basis of the recommendations of the workshop, two schemes namely  1) Ensuring Accessibility to Drinking Water in Identified  Panchayats and 2) Modernisation of Aruvikkara Pumping Station have been initiated as pilot programmes in the Annual Plan 2016-17.
