INFRASTRUCTURE Kerala has achieved many milestones in its programmes, many more benchmarks are required
to be set. Kerala has a long way to go in order to reach the international standards in the area of
e-governance.
5.173 An analysis of software exports through Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) during
2012-13 shows that the export value of software made by registered units in Kerala was `2240.70
crore which is 0.89% of all India. State wise analysis shows that Karnataka ranked first with export
value ` 95048.25 crore (38%) and Maharashtra second with `49796.30 crore (20%).
5.174 Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM), Indian Institute for Information
Technology and Management – Kerala (IIITM-K), Technopark, Infopark, Cyberpark and Kerala
State Information Technology Infrastructure Ltd. (KSITIL) are the major agencies involved in the
implementation of Information Technology schemes in the State under the Information Technology
Department.

5.175 The Plan outlay for Information Technology during 2012-13 is 27% higher than that in 2011-12.
The outlay during 2013-14 is `232.58 crore which is 6% higher than the previous year. The details
of Plan Outlay and Expenditure are given in Table 5.7 Though the financial achievement over outlay
2012-13 was 79.89% it is 88.35% during 2013-14 indicating far better utilisation of funds and better
performance.
Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM)
5.176 Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM) is an autonomous nodal IT implementation
agency for Department of Information Technology, Government of Kerala which provides managerial
support to various initiatives of the Department.
5.177 KSITM performs diverse roles including, e-governance and development of human resources,
disseminating information across citizens and Government, interfacing between Government and
industry, bridging digital divide, investor interactions and achieving speed and transparency in
Kerala State Planning Board
