Professor V K Ramachandran, Vice Chairperson, Kerala State Planning Board, was Professor and Head, Economic Analysis Unit, Indian Statistical Institute before joining the Planning Board. His areas of study are development economics; the agrarian question and agrarian relations; rural development; issues of labour and workers in the Indian economy; and class, caste, tribe, and gender discrimination and other forms of social oppression in India. He is the Editor of Review of Agrarian Studies.

Dr Mridul Eapen is also Honorary Fellow at the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram and Member, The Gender Park Governing Body. She served as Member, Kerala State Planning Board from 2006-11. She has been a Member of the Working Group of Feminist Economists constituted by the erstwhile Planning Commission during the 11th and 12th Five-Year Plans and was a Member of the High-Level Committee on the Status of Women in India, constituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India (2013-15). Her areas of research interest are rural development, employment and gender studies, specifically gender responsive budgeting. Dr Eapen is in charge of social justice (including elderly, people with disabilities and Transgenders), women and children and housing in the State Planning Board

Dr Ekbal Bappukunju is a public health activist, a neurosurgeon, and an academician. He was a Member of the Kerala State Planning Board from 1996 to 2000, during which he played a vital role in People's Plan Campaign, a decentralisation move by the Government of Kerala. He was the Chairman of Kerala State Pollution Control Board and also one of the joint conveners of Jan Swasthya Abhiyan (Public Health Movement – India). In State Planning Board, Dr Ekbal is in charge of general education, technical education, medical public health and sanitation, and sewage and water supply.

Professor K N Harilal is Professor at Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram. He was Member of State Planning Board from 2006-11.He has been Member of Working Group on External Sector for the Eleventh Five-Year Plan of India, Planning Commission, Government of India, New Delhi, 2006-07. His areas of interest are international political economy, regional economy of Kerala, rural development and agrarian relations and planning and democratic decentralisation. In State Planning Board he is in charge of rural development, urban development, art and culture and local-level planning programmes of Local Self Government.

Professor T Jayaraman is Senior Fellow at M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF). He previously served as the Chairperson of Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Studies, School of Habitat Studies and School of Research Methodology at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. His areas of research interest are climate change related issues including climate policy, energy issues, global mitigation and carbon budgets and vulnerability and adaptation; sustainability studies with special emphasis on equity; science and technology policy in advanced science and technology sectors including nuclear policy. He is in charge of energy, information technology, scientific services and research, and climate change and disaster management in Kerala State Planning Board.

Professor R Ramkumar is NABARD Chair at School of Development Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Dr Ramakumar's work on agricultural economics and banking policy is among the most quoted scholarly works in India. His research interests are agrarian studies, agricultural economics, development economics, fiscal policy in India and national identity schemes. In State Planning Board, he is in charge of agriculture and allied services, land reforms, cooperation, irrigation and flood control, tourism, sports and youth service and skill development.

Dr K Ravi Raman

Dr Ravi Raman, Member, State Planning Board was formerly a senior fellow at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, New Delhi. He was also a Director, Institute of Applied Manpower Research, Planning Commission and a visiting fellow in Oxford, Cambridge and Manchester for varying periods. He is also honorary research fellow in the Department of Development Studies, SOAS, London and affiliated researcher on Egalitarianism, University of Bergen. He works on a range of themes with a focus on agrarian and labour studies, social movements, policy and development, business and labour history and environmental studies. He is the author of Global Capital and Peripheral Labour (Routledge, 2010/2012/2015), editor of Development, Democracy and the State (Routledge, 2010) and Corporate Social Responsibility (with Ronnie Lipschutz) (Palgrave Macmillan, 2010) and has contributed to journals such as Review of International Political Economy, Review of Radical Political Economics,Nature and Culture, Social Analysis; Sociology; Organisation and Harvard-Cambridge journals such as Business History Review and Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy and Society. He is in charge of transport, labour and labour welfare, public works and civil supplies in the State Planning Board.

Dr Jayan Jose Thomas

Jayan Jose Thomas is a Professor of Economics at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. Jayan’s research has dealt with various aspects of Indian development, especially issues related to labour, industrialisation and the macroeconomy. He teaches courses on macroeconomics, Indian economy, international economics, and planning and development. Jayan completed his PhD in development economics from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, and holds a Bachelors degree in industrial engineering from Kerala University. His previous academic positions were at the National University of Singapore, Indian Statistical Institute, Madras School of Economics, and Central University of Kerala. In State Planning Board, he is incharge of programmes and issues related to industrial growth.
