Mr. Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Officer of the Bodoland Territorial Council, led a delegation of legislators and officials to the Kerala State Planning Board. The visit aimed to gain insights into Kerala’s successful planning strategies.
The Vice Chairperson of th-e State Planning Board welcomed the delegates and provided an overview of the Board's crucial role in formulating the State's budget and plans. Key documents prepared by the Board, including the Approach Paper to the Five Year Plan, the Five Year Plans, Annual Plans, and the Economic Review, were highlighted during the meeting.
The discussion also emphasised Kerala's decentralised planning process and the pivotal role of the District Planning Office in driving effective governance. The Bodoland delegation expressed admiration for the efficiency of Kerala's planning processes and the exemplary performance of the Kerala State Planning Board.
Among the attendees were Deputy CEM Sri. Gobinda Ch. Basumatary, MLA Mr. Jayanta Basumatary, Mr. Akash Deep IAS, Mr. Dhiraj Saud ACS, and other notable officials including Dr. Sunil Kaul, Dr. Phukan Basumatary, Mr. Chintan Raj, and Mr. Arpon Bhattacharjee.
The visit marks a step towards fostering collaboration and sharing best practices between Bodoland and Kerala, aiming to strengthen development initiatives in both regions.
